At times of the beginning of the Monastery Supraśl was in the teritory of a state called Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Rus' and Samogitia, which official language was Old-Belarusian, which first capital city was Navahradak and then Vilnia. Belarus is the successor of this state.
There are two similar Churches in Synkovičy and in Małamažejkava.
