description: 100th annual Western American Diocese, ROCOR traditional pilgrimage to Ft. Ross on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, with Bishop Theodosy with the priests eacons of the Russian Orthodox Church and faithful. The Holy Trinity/Saint Nicholas Chapel at Fort Ross is the first Russian Orthodox Church in the contiguous United States. Fort Ross is holy land–where two saints have labored: St Innocent of Alaska/Moscow and the Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut. Two other saints, St Tikhon and St John of Shanghai, have prayed here and sanctified the lands, the chapel, and the cemetery. Following the liturgy was a procession to the cemetery with a "Litya for the Departed."

Northern California priests and clergy under His Grace Bishop Theodosias of Seattle assemble with the faithful to celebrate the Divine Liturgy during the annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage at Fort Ross State Historic Park in California, USA.

The Orthodox faithful joined the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR) at Ft. Ross to honor and celebrate the first Russian Orthodox church in the continental U.S and remember the labors and presence of those who built it and worshiped there. At least five saints have prayed and worshipped there, including Saint Innocent of Alaska, Saint Peter the Aleut, Saint Tikon of Moscow, Saint Sebastian of Jackson, and Saint John the Wonderworker of San Francisco. Memorial Day, 26 May 2025.
