Just a question: if you think icons and frescoes are just to be shared why are you voting them? in this case you should just comment. I think this is what you mean, if this is your opinion you should follow it first.

My system of valuation is little protest for "excellent system" which use 99% of users.
On the other hand, my votes for icons (and frescoes of course) is another something. In my opinion if You want to split your photo of icon with users this web you shouldn't expose this photo for votes whereas you should expose this photo with function "blocked marks". It's my opinion. You have yours opinion I have my. All of my photos have this function on. I don't competition by the ranking. You can do it too.

I have to back Marina and Mihaela on this one. You can’t write “Let’s comment” in your portfolio and on the other hand have just 300 comments!
I see no problem with photographing frescoes. Here is what my wife has to say on the subject: “Photography in its base is a documentation of something that already exists. What makes one photograph a work of art is the way you choose to present it, your capacity to see beyond its appearance. I have a question, will you call a pianist, performing a Chopin's "Heroic Polonaise" an artist or not? Since he is just performing Chopin's piece, but the question is how he is doing it?”
Another thing that confuses me about your rating system is your technical grade. OK, I understand if in some photographs you don’t see anything spiritual or artistic, but you can’t deprive a good photograph of its technical values. I think you need to read the grading manual one more time :)

I still don't agree! What about these people in you photo, what about churches and places, are they your work? They are God's work, isn't it? And a photo of a frescoe can be good or bad, can have esthetics or not, you give low marks to very good and excellent photos.

I give average marks for old and new icons and frescs because these frescs and icons aren't work of authors these photos. If you want to show for people old frescs you should blocked marks and expose this photo for information

I think, if photo is bad I mark "bad", if photo is average I mark "average", good is "good" When photo is exceptional I mark "Excellent". I don't think that 95% photos on services are "excellent and exceptional.

I think 90% of users on orthphoto incuding me using voting scale incorrect.
excellent photo means photo which is perfect in every part of it light is perfect, composition is perfect and spiritual value of photo is perfect.
Score 7 and 8 means very good and I think most of photos are very good.
Giving votes 5 and 6 means that photo is good and it is still worthy to present it on orthphoto. It still means I like this photo but I saw some better.
So this is correct way of using voting scale. I'm not using it correct like most of users. There is 3 solutions:
1. don't be offended by different ways of voting
2. try tio come back to correct way of using it
3. change scale from 10 to three and resign from axplanations like excellent or good or bad.
I'm interested to hear your opinions about.
I start separate topic on forum were I copuy my texts.
And I want to say that this is my personall opinion and I might be totaly wrong :)

ok, Alik, I agree with you about this problem, maybe I became impatient too, but I think that what users like Ioann are doing is actually the other extreme, I mean giving too low marks and sorry, but I don't know about comments bad or good, I don't understand them.

His avarage voting is about seven so iyt means that whenever he will give more than seven it means he likes photo.
We are here on orthphoto became very inpatient and we are not enough modest.
I must say that even me (who remember time when avarege score for most of photos on site was about 8) nw when I'm receiving votes lower than 9 I start thinkig this is revenge for my lower voting or maybe real vote.
And wenever I'm voting with votes lower than 9 I start thinking if I'm not hurting someone. So result is that I'm not voting so often.
I receive some emails fro m possible users (who I was trying to invite) and they wrote to me I know site I don't like that there is so many avarege photos with so good scores I don't want to add mine photos there).
And I have problem (I'm adding similar photos becouse sometimes I want to know which one users think is better) But every my photo is excellent. And in facyt I think 90% (or even all have smaller or bigger mistakes)
