Winner of Adobe-Orthphoto Prize Competition – June, 2011

June rain, tree, man, dog – the beauty of the creation appears to us in simple things. The wonderful photo of our June winner fr.Seraphim Telep ( fr. Seraphim) from Poland warms us with its authenticity and simplicity and if it whispers, “The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” (Ps. 23:1)
But what is the story behind the photo? We asked our winner to tell us how he captured this beautiful moment.
"I am one of the brothers from Saint Cyril and Methody monastery in Ujkowice. Photography is my hobby, but also one of my occupations in the monastery (poslushaniye). We have a lot of work in the monastery, but I have a camera nearby as often as it is possible. There are events that happen rarely, or that happen only once. If I have a camera, with a bit of knack I am able to take a shot.
That day we were mowing meadow. Suddenly, a huge cloud came, and in a minute rain poured down heavily. The fastest possible way not to be soaked to the skin was to run to the forest. The nearest shelter was a thick bole of the broken tree. Fr. Athanasius, who had been accompanying me, hid first, I joined him after taking few shots.
It was impossible to mow after such a downpour. First we had to think about dry clothes..."

Congratulations, fr. Seraphim! We hope that you will always have your camera nearby and you’ll share your new photos and experiences on Orthphoto.net.
