Winner of Adobe OrthPhoto Prize competition – May, 2011

The winner for May in OrthPhoto Adobe Prize competition is a beautiful photo of Djordje Gajicki (Djole) from Serbia. It shows one of the most important and significant orthodox place in his country.

As usual, we asked the winner to tell a few words about himself and his picture.
“I am an amateur photographer, pursuing photography in the last few years, learning from my own works and from the works of other photographers. The emphasis in my work is on the monasteries photography.
Selected photography shows a monastery Zica. It was founded by King Stefan Prvovencani, the First-Crowned, and built in the early 13th century and received St. Sava as the first Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 1219. The monastery facades were originally painted red according to the tradition of the Mount Athos monasteries. I uploaded detailed information for the monastery under the picture, so if you are interested in more facts about its history, frescoes or something else you can find them there.”
We would like to congratulate our winner and wish him many more photos, and more awards.

Congratulations, Djordje, and thanks for your contribution to our website not only with your beautiful photos, but also with interesting information.
