Winner of Adobe - Orthphoto prize competition - October

For the very first time the Winner of Adobe Romania - Orthphoto competition comes from Poland and for the very first time our winner is a monk Fr Serafim Telep (fr.Seraphim). This proves how varied is the group of our photographers and viewers. As always, we are happy to award our winner with a license for Photoshop C3. Below, we would like to share a few words about our winner and the monastery he comes from. That’s what Fr Serafim wrote to us:

“ As many of regular users of Orthphoto know I’m a father from Monastery of Saints Cyryl and Metody. A detailed history of our monastery is available on our website, but I would like to write a few words about the monastery anyway. The monastery was founded 25 years ago. Initially there were only two fathers and founders of the monastery. After a few years they were joined by the first candidate for a monk and then, with time, more and more brothers came to live in the monastery. Presently, there are thirteen of us: four fathers and nine brothers. We pray together, work quite a lot and, together, we keep building our home – the monastery.
I joined the monastery in the summer of 1999. During first six years I never thought that I would occupy myself with photography. In 2006, because of my trip abroad, I bought my first photo camera - Sony DSC-H1. The purchase, although completely random, was a good one; the camera was an expanded one and it allowed for slow learning of the rules of photography. After two years of taking photos and reading I bought, this time as a more informed choice, another camera – Canon 40D. That’s the camera I use now and photography is now one of my jobs (obedience) at the monastery. "

We would like to congratulate our winner and wish him many more photos, and more awards. Congratulations, and thank you for your contribution to our website.
