Dear Orthphoto members and lovers of Photography and Orthodoxy,

we are pleased to announce you that Orthphoto, the largest database of orthodox photos, reached the number 50 000 photos.
Due to our 3700 users we have now possibility to view photos from 74 countries all over the world, that are uploaded and viewed by people from 130 countries and 5 continents. In 2010, our site had more than 400 000 visits, that means we have around 1000 visits a day. We should remember also that photos are viewed not only by registered members.
We are especially delighted about the diversity of Orthodoxy presented on OrthPhoto. Sources are spread from England to China, from South Korea to Kenya.
Most pictures originate from countries in which users play an active role in promoting the site.
Our little editorial team is working 100% on voluntary basis without any financial support. We belong to OrthNet initiative which is also owner of orthodox internet service cerkiew.pl and we are located on servers which are paid by this site. We want to thank for cerkiew.pl team very much for their support.

Our growing popularity is a reason to think about finding ways of self financing which also could allow us to do more for our users and for promotion of orthodox faith (increase size and number of uploads and start new version of site). If you have some suggestions or want to help us in developing new ways of existing OrthPhoto (like international workshop, international exhibitions, books, orthphoto t-shirts, etc ) please write us.
We are very happy that our users start their own initiatives like orthphoto users meeting or exhibitions. It is great success of site and we want to support them and to be able to do it.
We invite you to promote OrthPhoto wherever you are. Use the OrthPhoto banner on your website, print the poster and display it in your parish or just tell a friend about us!

We are committed to making OrthPhoto a truly international forum on Orthodoxy and photography. So far we have launched 10 language versions and we are wishing to increase this number (if you want help us in developing another language version please contact us).
Until now Orthphoto organized two international exhibitions. One was organized in 2009 simultaneosly in 5 countries, and the second one: Monasticism, has been launched recently, this year. Until now there were two openings: in Orthodox Culture Center in Białystok, Poland and Mioveni City Hall, Romania. If you wish to present exhibition in your city we are ready to help you.
