The second international Orthphoto exhibition coming soon!

Over a year ago we celebrated the 5th anniversary of our existence on the internet. To commemorate this important date we organized our first international photo exhibition.
We wanted to show the beauty of Orthodox faith around the world, and we wanted to show it globally. The exhibitions have taken place in Bulgaria, Serbia, Poland, Russia and Romania and we are still showing them in many different places. Everywhere, our idea was met with a huge dose of enthusiasm and support and the exhibition proved to be a great success.

Therefore, we have decided that the time has come for yet another undertaking. This year, however, we have decided to make a slightly different exhibition. Like our first exhibition it would be an international one, it would show the beauty of Orthodoxy around the world and it would be shown in several places in the world. However, this time we are organizing, for the very first time, a thematic exhibition.
We have decided that monasticism would be a perfect theme for our exhibition this year. Why? Because monasticism is one of the most important elements of orthodox faith and tradition. Monasteries were always the centers of theological thought and they stood at the guard of the purity of The Orthodox faith and tradition.
We want to show big and important monasteries, as well as those not so well-known. We want to show the reality of the monk’s life and the impact of the monasteries on the lives of the faithful, on the culture and the arts.
We have managed to collect photos from 25 countries. 102 users have sent us their photographs. From 450 photos received from the users we have chosen 200 photos to be printed, the remaining photographs would be presented through a slideshow during the exhibition. Moreover, during the exhibition we will play a CD with Orthodox chants from various monasteries.

The opening of the exhibition in Poland is planned for 18.11.2010
We would show the exhibition on other venues as well.
