Dear orthphoto users,
Everyone knows that our rating system does not work the way it should.
We have tried a couple of times to improve it, but we did not get satisfactory results . Therefore, we have decided to do some radical changes of the system in beta version. We are going to use the 3 stars system with only positive voting. It is still not yet decided which system will be used in new orthphoto version. Beta version is not going to be ready before Easter. So until this time we want to make the last attempt to improve our old rating system

From today on you can test the new version and send us your opinions and suggestions concerning what should be improved.
And from 1st of September(if you agree with us) we will start using the new system.
Below, we present the description of the new voting system:

First of all we have resigned from 3 categories. In 99% you vote the same and do not use them at all. Now you need to click only once when you vote.
Secondly, your vote will be represented by words not by points.
This is in fact coming back to the previous system of voting (before the 3 categories were introduced).
Lastly, the main change which is adding the limit for votes for excellent photos. In the new system you will have a limit (probably around 455 points) which will be decreased each time you will vote using 10 or nine points (which means excellent). Before your limit will be decreased you will be prompt with dialog box.
If you vote for photos from previous months your limit will not be changed.
And your limit will be renewed every 1st day of a new month.

Until first of September in order to use the new system you need to click on link "test new voting" (it is situated right before the voting form).
If you use arrows to the left for photo the new voting form will be available for you.

We hope that the new system will help us comply with our tutorial. Voting should help users understand which photos are the best and which ones need some improvement.
