St. Methodios of Patara and Emperor Leo "the Wise" (known as "the Philosopher") left a large number of extremely extensive prophecies to the effect that...
"The Russian people ... will vanquish the adherents of ... Ismail [the reference here is to the Muslims, in general, or to the Turks, in particular, as being the descendants of Ismail] and, will occupy the Seven-hilled City [of Constantinople]..."
St. Methodius of Patara (+ ca. 311-312) even goes so far as to refer to the Ruler of this Northern nation by the titles of "The Tsar-Autocrat and the Grand Prince of Moskovia", over eight centuries before the first hut in Moscow ever saw the light of day - and over twelve centuries before ever there was an autocratic Tsar.

A good translation of a folk song from the 15th century. The creator(s) of these verses echo the centuries old mourn of the final loss of the Empire where we draw our religious tradition and its foremost symbol the Hagia Sophia church.
Its ending is a much repeated wish that no matter how irrelevant is today (I beg the pardon of the more dedicated) it still brings a lump to my throat. I would translate it more as "The years will pass, the time will come when all this will be ours again"
It also mentions another popular legend (amongst many) of the Church's Holy Altar Table. It is further told that the ship carrying it broke in two and the Altar sunk under the waves. For centuries old sailors tell stories of how there is a spot of calm sea in the middle of storms where they believe the Altar lies underneath. Also fishermen swear that they have seen glimpses of it under the sea.
A contemporary Theologian said that the simple folks' unpretentious belief is worth a thousand Theology professors.
On to the historic roots of "four hundred chimes,and sixty two bells" it is actually popular legend again as the Hagia Sopia did not have bells or a bell tower. The multiple bells of this monastery is indeed inspired from the legent rather than the church itself.

Иначе је један део посвећен и Св.Нектарију. Звоне се сва укључују само за одређене празнике, ато је веома ретко. Сви се монаси повлаче и припремају за то јер је веома тешко слушати тај звук.
