Tanjica, someone told me that a word used by orthodox Americans, also, like others, is the Greek one for "klepalo" or "toaca" in Romanian is "semantron" :)

If somebody knows the English word for 'klepalo' let me know, please. It is a wooden board and a hammer used instead of a bell during the Lenten season.

Sorry, Moses and everybody else: in the photo one can see an ancient Serbian traditional 'jug' (for drinking water), a bell, a little box (I don't know its purpose) and 'klepalo' which is used during the Lenten period insead of bells to saummon people on church services
