It is a Romanian book written by priest Virgil Gheorghiu, called "Tatal meu, preotul care s-a urcat la cer" - "My father, the priest who climbed to the sky". It is about a very good priest from a village in Transylvania that was deported in 2-nd WW, and the people have gone with him, exactly like this, with icons and things in the church but actually they dissapeared, and nobody knows where.
These photos remembered me of that image. Very strong, indeed!
