About the photo, in English:
In some villages from Oltenia (southern region of Romania) is the tradition that until there are fulfilled 40 days from the departure of a Christian person to be made a bridge (or to be repaired one) and to be built a fountain (or to be repaired one). In the memory of the departured person, with the same occasion is layed besides a cross like these ones from the photo. Generally, these crosses are made by popular manufacturers.

Exista obiceiul in unele sate din Oltenia ca pana la 40 de zile dupa ce un crestin trece la cele vesnice sa se faca o punte (sau sa se repare) si sa se faca o fantana (sau sa se repare). Pentru pomenirea celui trecut, cu aceeasi ocazie se pune in apropiere o cruce ca cele din imagine. Crucile sunt facute in general de mesteri populari. Poate sa traduca cineva asta in engleza? Va multumesc
