MANY SAY THIS IS NOT ICONOGRAPHY..What do you say?
Father Emilian Glocar was born in 1906 in Moravia, studied Theology in Sarajevo, taught Religion in Prague and Pilzin, earned a Doctorate in Belgrad, was ordained and served the prominant Parish in Delj, Croatia, before coming to the USA in 1939 where he served in Ohio,taught at a University in Wisconsin, authored nine books, writing in Czech, Serbian, and English and winning international recognition. But he died in poverty at the age of 78 while serving two little immigrant Churches in the forest. In his elder years, while slowly going blind, he started painting. God blessed my wife and I to meet him 26 years ago and this last Sunday to worship in the church in Hibbing, Minnesota where he painted this iconostasis shortly before he died. We found it awesome and powerful. What do you think?
