in Romania is very usual that people in church to bow or kneel during reading of the Gospel, and at some services the priest covers thier head with the stole - epitrahil

This is what some old women in my parish church do. They bend or kneel under the epitrahil while the Gospel is read. I think this is some old tradition, don't know the reason why it is done. I will upload some photos from my church regarding this.

What jurisdiction are you from my friend?
Alexsi2009.06.05 [04:43]
Maybe dear Michael you can explain a little more clearly what is happening here. Your words suggesst that it is the reading of the Gospel, but it appears the the Gospel book is resting on the back of the bowed server and the priest is reading from some other service book. Please help us understand. Blessings
