Great! First time I hear about this wonderful tradition. Unfortunately we don't do anything similar to celebrate the feast of St.40 martyrs of Sebaste.

Super!In Romania we have the same custom,but we make them in the form of 8(horizontal)and covered with honey and wallnuts like yours and we make a very small ones (many 8) from water,salt and flour and we boil them with water,sugar,vanilla and lemon peel.After they're boild and litlle cold,we put nuts and cinammon.It looks like a soup,very sweet and the taste is great!!!We call them 'MUCENICI' (martyrs).Pozdrav to you and to your familly!Doamne ajuta!:)
