Thank you, iliana, very informative. From what you say, Orthodoxy is on the increase in the UK.

Indeed, the Law is quit strict and the owners of the various Churches cannot change many things in the interior or the exterior. Even in cases where the Anglican Churches were transformed in pubs, night-clubs, apartments etc. (Ooh, yes, these things happen in the Church of England!!) the form of the building had to stay as it was!

It is a good thing that anglican churches became orthodox. And probably it is an oficial thing that they had to keep the style of the initial church!

No, the Church was Anglican, dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The building was bought by the Orthodox in the 50's. Most of the Orthodox Churches in the UK used to be Anglican Churches. The reconstruction in the 80's kept the original style of the building.

Was this originally Greek Orthodox? I am wondering about the gothic construction - no dome. 3
