Now, this is what I think: the photo should have color in this case as there is too much information in it, too many grounds (there is some bread in the forground, then the bishop, then the shroud, the candles, the iconostasis in the background). BW is used for simple compositions, with an interesting play of light.. This is 'multilevel' photo, and without colour it seems difficult to grasp what in fact is in it...
