For Lazar: In the left of the monk is the hell that is sending to him temptations. In the righ, the citadel, is this world that is trying to seduce the monk with his false glory and beauty.
The defence of the monk is his faith in God, the Cross of Christ and the words of Holy Scriptures, Psalms and sayings of the Holy Fathers.
